CURRENT SAFETY OPERATIONS
1. Stop the Pied Piper Rapist
Strider Safety wants to stop an active serial rapist who is hiding as a music instructor at a well-known school and recently attacked “Jake”, a 15 year-old boy. After eight months the police investigator has not been able to collect enough evidence to make an arrest. The case is now on hold. Strider has a plan to solve this problem with a team of four private investigators, all former police officers. Along with Strider volunteers, they will work the case and get the evidence the police need to stop him. We’re doing this for Jake and this for all the future victims of the Pied Piper. He’s already on to his next victim, so we need to act now.
2. Make High Schools Safe-from-Violence™
Reduce High School violence by 50-90%
Serial Predators usually start their careers in high school. Yet school administrators and teachers lack tools to identify and stop violence, especially of a sexual nature. We estimate that over 2.5M high school girls and 910K high school boys will be raped this year(1). Strider has a plan to address this problem by leading an applied research project to interview young serial predators, victim-heroes, and others to identify every predator method used in our nation's high schools so that school administrators and faculty will know what to look for and how to stop it.
(1) According to the CDC's 2017 Youth Risk Behavior Survey - about 7.4% of high school students were raped in 2017,
with females (11.3 %) experiencing higher rates than males (3.5%)
3. The Strider Campus Rape Predictor™
A Tool for Campus Safety-from-Violence™ Champions
We have noticed hundreds of brave college women and other champions fighting to make their university campuses safer, often having to deal with administrators who just don’t get it. We wanted to give them some tools to show team members, administrators and the public just how bad it is.
Along with two Strider Serious Crimes Interns, Ashley Bauckman and Carina Rodrigues, Dave Amis created the Strider Campus Rape Predictor™ to show what is happening on any particular campus. It’s not about the past, it’s about what’s going to happen next and what we're going to do about it.
